Random Life - Random Month?

October was a busy month.

I posted a lot of information and photos on things like the 6th annual L.A. Ampshow ( http://www.ampshow.com/ ) and the press release party for http://www.65amps.com/ on two new amp models......

I will not cover much of that in this post as the old posts are still there for folks.

I posted some vacuum tube information, posted some of my thoughts on the economy and the world in general on twitter and facebook.

This post will be primarily snapshots and a bit of commentary on some random items and activity.  A bit more informal than some of my other posts.

I would like to open this post with this shot from a friend of mine Mark Horne.  Mark is a guitarist and tour bus driver.  If you have seen a Trace Adkins show you have probably seen Mark.  He is a killer guitarist and raises cattle when he is not on the road.  I have been watching these guys grow up for a while now which is pretty cool.  I won't talk about where they will end up as some folks may go veggie on me and get upset :)

I drove in traffic in the rain at 5:30pm on the 405 with Dan Boul one day.  The Perfect Storm when it comes to traffic situations.

Dan and I went to TrueTone Music in Santa Monica.  We went there to drop off a London Pro amp.  We looked at a lot of great guitars and amps, a lot of great vintage stuff.

Dan Boul fell in love with a nice Strat.  It was found at TrueTone.  It now lives at http://www.65amps.com/

I watched as activity at 65 Amps ramped up on production of the Red Line amps.  Here are two London Pro heads and four London Pro combos in the build process.

I watched people carve pumpkins

I watched Faith cook a nice Italian dinner and ate it.

I watched Mike Franceschini leave work for the day and wondered what time he would return that night

I went shooting at http://www.moorenmoore.com/

I met the President of Stubb's BBQ ( http://www.stubbsbbq.com/ ) as he and his crew put on a BBQ for over 1000 people at Union Rescue Mission ( http://www.urm.org/ )  The Stubb's folks are feeding a lot of folks all over the country.  More info at http://www.stubbsbbq.com/ftw.php

I took a shot of Andy Bales where he was working which is not unusual as he never stops working

I watched the Stubb's BBQ crew make BBQ beans for 1000 as I took a break after opening pickle jars for 1000 folks to have pickles with their BBQ lunch.

I went shooting.  Again.  I thought about tubes and amps while I was shooting for some strange reason

I had cell phone camera wars at lunch

I ate Chinese food and watched others eat Chinese food

I went to Skid Row in Los Angeles.  On one trip I took a friend who had come up to Los Angeles for the day from San Diego

I went shooting.  Again.

I had more cell phone camera wars in restaurants

I went to Skid Row

I watched Jason King replace a firing pin spring that was broken in five pieces

I watched Jason and Fabrizio shoot after I was done shooting

I think this was my fourth trip to Union Rescue Mission in October.  On my fifth trip I took my friend from San Diego along with me.

I posted a cell phone shot of the only autograph I have - Timothy Leary

-the end-
